The Joy of Trials

James 1:2  "My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations;"

It seems an impossible task, to be joyful when going through trials.  How can God expect such a thing of believers?  When we understand that we serve a sovereign God and a providential God we can begin to understand how it is possible to be joyful in trials.  Nothing happens in the life of the child of God except God permits it to happen.  God has purpose behind the trials in our life.  His desire is that we become more like the Lord Jesus Christ.  God uses the trials to grow and develop us as believers, to grow our faith.  When we begin to see the trials as part of God's plan for us we can become joyful in trials knowing that God is turning us into what He wants us to be.
