Where are Your Treasures?

Matthew 6:20  "But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:"
Matthew 6:21  "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

Have you ever known anyone that was materialistic minded?  It seemed that their sole focus was in acquiring as many material goods as they could get their hands around.  The bible teaches us that this is the wrong attitude, especially for God's children.  The bible reveals a sobering truth to us in verse twenty-one.  The truth is that where our treasure is our heart will be also.  If our focus is on our savings account, the type of house we live in or the type of car we drive then our focus is misplaced.  Our focus must be on living the kind of life that accrues treasure in heaven, not on the earth.  Where are your treasures being laid up today?  Those treasures that you're acquiring on earth are simply temporal.  The treasures that are laid up in Heaven will be enjoyed throughout all eternity.
