The Crucial Aspects of the Cross

 

Colossians 1:12-22

Col 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
Col 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

The word "Crucial" means "Of vital importance, especially in regards to a decision or result.

There are five crucial aspects to the cross:

1) Salvation - It speaks of Christ as our sacrificial lamb. John 1:11-12, 29

2) Sanctification - It speaks of Christ as Lord of our Life. Ro. 10:9-13 It is an act of submission. Ro. 12:1-2

3) Who you are - It speaks of Christ as our Life. Ro. 6:4-11; Col. 3:4

4) Emancipation - It speaks of Christ as our Liberator. Lu. 4:16; Col. 2:13; Ro. 8:21; Jn. 6:36

5) Direction - It speaks of Christ as our Leader. Lu. 9:23-26; Gal. 5:6
