A Righteous Man

Gen 7:1 And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.

Gen 7:4 For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth.

Gen 7:16 And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in.

In Genesis 7 we see a very familiar story in the Scriptures.  It is the story of God's anger at a generation that had completely turned its back upon Him.  The Lord told Noah to build an ark because he was going to destroy all mankind, because of their wickedness.  When the appointed time came God called Noah into the ark along with his family.  The reason that Noah was saved is because God saw him as righteous.  He was righteous because he trusted God entirely, by faith.  He believed what God said and who God was!  God miraculously caused the animals to go to Noah on the ark and when the animals and Noah and his family were boarded the Bible tells us that the LORD shut him in.

What a perfect place of peace and security.  We can get no more secure than when God seals us in.  God was going to keep this righteous man safe from the pending judgment that would fall upon the face of the entire earth.  God preserves His righteous from destruction.  In Sodom God sent angels to Lot to warn him of the pending disaster.  In the Book of the Revelation in chapter three, verse ten we see that God will keep His righteous people safe from the terrible time of judgment that will fall during the Tribulation.
